What to expect at your sessions
|
Your first session
Your first appointment is an initial interview which will explore aspects of yourself, your background & your current concerns, along with what you hope to achieve with therapy Your clinician will asses your needs, look at how to support you, & work out a treatment plan that meets your needs. As you undertake the process of therapy, you will build a relationship with your therapist, building trust, confidence, & report, which will support your healing journey. Continuing sessions As you progress with your therapy, you may notice considerable changes in yourself & how you are managing your issues & concerns. These changes occur through working on the exercises or being conscious of doing things differently, with awareness and creating the changes you are wanting. However your therapist can't create your changes only YOU can, your therapist is there to provide support, encouragement, guidance & the tools necessary to support you reaching your goals. Counselling is hard work & requires a commitment to yourself & others, along with a consistent attempt to doing things differently, breaking cycles & patterns, that promote an approach and focus on change. |
